Parent Workshops
Attending a Parent Workshop
Attending a Parent Workshop during your child’s stay is strongly recommended as a part of our integrated family systems curriculum. This opportunity allows parents to meet other parents in the program, connect, and learn together under the guidance of our team of Family Therapists.
The 3-day workshop is set in the rolling hills of Clayton, GA (just a few miles away from our main office) and includes a blend of support, education and practice. The goal of the workshop is to equip you with the knowledge and tools to thrive as a parent. We will support you in identifying family patterns, understanding your child’s developmental process and practicing healthy communication tools.
The structure of the workshop is intentionally intimate and flexible to promote mutual support and connection between individuals. Small-group exercises, mindfulness practices and a dynamic presentation style are utilized throughout the workshop. The workshop is appropriate for parents several weeks into the wilderness process and is typically paired around the timing of your field visit (You will discuss appropriateness and timing of this visit with your child’s Primary Therapist.)
