Parent Support Network
Working through family challenges can feel like one of the loneliest times in a parent's life. We understand the importance of camaraderie during these moments. In order to help foster connection, Blue Ridge offers the following opportunities for families:
Weekly phone-in parent support groups
Our weekly parent support call is an opportunity to connect with other parents in the program as well as with alumni parents. These calls are structured to offer both logistical and emotional support as you navigate the experience of having a child in the woods. Parents who participate in these calls consistently report feeling connected and peaceful after these groups.
Connect with other Blue Ridge parents during our Parent Workshop
Our Parent Workshops offer an in-person and integrative approach to the family programming. Facilitated by our trained family clinicians, we offer connection with other parents, small-group exercises, education, and opportunities to practice implementing healthy parenting approaches. Set in the rolling hills of Clayton, this workshop also includes catered meals, meditation experiences, and yoga.

Parent Support Facebook Group
We have a closed Facebook group for BRTW parents. This was started upon the request of several parents. Our hope is it can be a safe place for you to connect with other parents, give and receive support, and share your process.
Alumni Parent Mentors
Our alumni parent mentors are all parents who have been through the Blue Ridge or Emerald Arrow program. They volunteer their time and support because they believe in the power and efficacy of this process. These mentors offer both wisdom and insight into the wilderness process. If you’d like to be paired with a parent mentor, we will help find an appropriate match for you.
