Peter
Peter grew up in Atlanta and spent early adulthood in the mountains of Wyoming and North Carolina. Peter’s life has been spent in dedication to making and sharing music, being outside, experiencing community and leaning into self-work. A geographer by education, a river guide by vocation and a believer in Mark Twain’s truism that ‘travel is fatal to bigotry and narrowmindedness’, Peter carries a perspective steeped in love for land, culture and complexity. He has laid deep roots in the Chattooga River watershed, where he has lived for the last several years.
Peter believes in the innate value of every person, and that as humans we have a natural tendency to become our true selves; he strives to offer gentle and firm, honest and even support to students through his work at Blue Ridge.
