Student Care Coordinator
Personal Approach
I began my career at Blue Ridge as a Field Instructor in the Spring of 2016. I had no clue what I was getting myself into, but I felt like I had found my niche for the first time in my life. I have always felt a strong connection to nature especially in times when I felt little hope for the future. Nature always reminded me to keep pushing through.
Another great passion of mine is people and learning about each person as their own unique masterpiece. People are so interesting and I always strived to get on a deeper level with others. When I found Blue Ridge, I found the perfect environment to connect with nature and dive into the human experience.
As the Student Care Coordinator, I work with Primary and Family Therapists to support and oversee families from their enrollment at Blue Ridge through to their transition. I visit the field and connect with each student to provide families with a clear window into their child's experience through photos, videos, stories, academics, goals, and more. I also manage the organizational and case management needs of the therapists I work with. My goal is to support and provide information, expectations, and care to parents to set them up for success in our program.
Personal Experience
I myself learned from watching the students learn and grow and I applied it to my personal experience. I became invested in the students and myself in the process and have never felt so powerful in my life before Blue Ridge.
The woods are a magical place, and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to witness it all. I've had many roles at Blue Ridge over the years: Field instructor, EA coordinator, Academic Coordinator, Transporter, Student Services Coordinator, and now, I am the Psychiatric Services Coordinator. I'm grateful to be back.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking yummy food.
