Haley Carpenter

Student Services Coordinator

Personal Approach

As the Student Services Coordinator, I manage student files and progress in academics. I'm also the point person for communication with the psychiatrist, Dr. Braunstein.

I started at Blue Ridge in the spring of 2016 as a field instructor. I had no clue what I was getting myself into but I felt like I had found my niche for the first time in my life. I have always felt a strong connection to nature especially in times when I felt little hope for the future. Nature always reminded me to keep pushing through.

Another great passion of mine is people and learning about each person as their own unique masterpiece. People are so interesting and I always strived to get on a deeper level with others. When I found Blue Ridge, I found the perfect environment to connect with nature and dive into the human experience.

Personal Experience

I myself learned from watching the students learn and grow and I applied it to my personal experience. I became invested in the students and myself in the process and have never felt so powerful in my life before BRTW.

The woods are a magical place and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to witness it all. I've had many roles at Blue Ridge over the years: Field instructor, EA coordinator, Academic Coordinator, Transporter, and now Student Services Coordinator. I'm grateful to be back.

Currently, I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking yummy food.
