Primary Therapist, Adolescent Girls 13-17

Clinical Approach

Adolescence comes with no shortage of messages about who to be, how to look, and what it takes to be enough. Our adolescent clients come to Blue Ridge carrying an incredible amount of pain and patterns of thinking and behaving that have pulled them away from who they are and who they want to become. I help my clients to quiet that noise, reconnect with their own values, and develop the confidence to live authentically.

I believe the best therapeutic work happens when a clinician can truly meet a client where they are, with curiosity, empathy, and without judgment. My approach is deeply relational, incorporating creativity and playfulness to help clients engage with difficult emotions and experiences in ways that feel both meaningful and safe. Together, we explore early life wounds alongside the current behaviors and relationship patterns that may no longer serve them. Rather than viewing these behaviors as problems to solve, I see them as adaptations that once met important needs. By understanding their purpose, we can begin finding healthier, more sustainable ways to meet those same needs. In doing so, clients learn to approach themselves with greater compassion and begin building new ways of relating to themselves and others.

Working within the full family system gives me hope that the growth clients experience in treatment can continue long after they leave Blue Ridge. Families can expect honesty, collaboration, and compassion as we identify the ways to best support their child's healing. I believe lasting change happens when families are willing to grow alongside their adolescent, creating relationships that foster greater trust, connection, and resilience. Ultimately, I believe every family is doing the best they can with the tools they have, and that each person is striving for a system where everyone can thrive.

Personal Interests

I grew up in Philadelphia, and after a period of travel, settled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. While once a city gal at heart, I have come to cherish the beauty of the wilderness as a playground and gathering space. I enjoy connecting with myself and others through camping, exploring new trails, and swimming in the crisp rivers and lakes. When at home, I enjoy reading, gardening, taking dance lessons, intermittently recommitting to knitting projects, and hosting my community for dinner and game nights.
