Olivia Fiatoa

Recruiter, Alumni Relations

Background & Experience

Olivia was born and raised in Levittown, Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelors of Social Work from West Chester University. She went on to work at a nonprofit helping families experiencing homelessness for 3 years. She then transitioned to working for the city of Philadelphia as a family empowerment social worker. She realized her passion of incorporating the outdoors into social and emotional learning as a facilitator for an educational consulting company that focused on life skill and self-esteem development through hands-on experiential activities. This led Olivia to look into the benefits of wilderness therapy and specifically Blue Ridge.

Olivia’s journey began at Blue Ridge as a Field Instructor in May 2022. She quickly realized that Blue Ridge was a program that focused on the whole-child and the family system. It was apparent that the organization operated at a high level guided by their mission and values. Olivia became a Senior Field Instructor in April 2023 and was given the Ember Award from the Outdoor Behavioral Health Council. She then moved into the role of Field Recruiter and Alumni Relations Coordinator in 2024.

About Olivia

Olivia lives outside of Black Mountain, NC. She enjoys spending time in nature, whether that's at the beach or on a scenic hike. In her free time she likes to read, listen to music, and plan her next trip to a new place.
